Frequently Asked Questions
ITR-1 (Sahaj) is for salaried individuals with income up to ₹50 lakh. ITR-4 (Sugam) is for those declaring income under presumptive schemes (44AD, 44ADA). We select the correct form for your situation.
A belated return can be filed by 31st December. A penalty of ₹5,000 (₹1,000 for income below ₹5L) applies. Interest on tax due under Section 234A also accrues.
A notice under Section 148 means the Assessing Officer believes income has escaped assessment in a past year. It requires you to file a return for the specified year. We handle these carefully.
Salaried individuals can switch regimes every year at filing time. Businesses and professionals with business income can only switch once from new to old. We advise on the optimal regime each year.
